Michael B. Petras, Jr.

Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Michael Petras has served as our Chief Executive Officer since June 2016, as the Chairman of our Board since January 2019 and as a member of our Board since June 2016. Prior to joining Sotera Health, Mr. Petras served as Chief Executive Officer of Post-Acute Solutions at Cardinal Health, Inc., a multinational healthcare services company, from 2015 to 2016 and Chief Executive Officer of Cardinal Health at-Home at Cardinal Health, Inc. from 2013 to 2015. From 2011 to 2013, he was the Chief Executive Officer for AssuraMed Holdings, Inc., a medical products supplier owned by the Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and Goldman Sachs private equity firms, which was sold to Cardinal Health, Inc. in 2013. From 2008 to 2011, Mr. Petras was President and Chief Executive Officer at GE Lighting, a General Electric Company (“GE”) business unit. During his over 20-year career at GE, he held several management positions in multiple disciplines. Mr. Petras holds a B.S.B.A. in finance from John Carroll University and an M.B.A. in marketing from Case Western Reserve University.

Riaz Bandali

President, Nordion

Riaz Bandali has served as President of Nordion since February 2022. Prior to joining Sotera Health, Mr. Bandali held senior leadership positions in the health and life sciences industry and was most recently the Chief Executive Officer and President at Emerald Health Therapeutics from 2019 to 2022. From 2010-2019, Mr. Bandali served as President of Early Stage and Translational Sciences at Syneos Health, a top 5 global Clinical Research Organization. Prior to his role with Syneos Health, Mr. Bandali held several executive positions, with mandates covering global operations, strategy, M&A and Business Leadership at PharmaNet, Danaher (Sciex and Molecular Devices) and several business units within MDS. He started his career in Venture Capital as an investment analyst and, ultimately, as a Vice President and Venture Partner with MDS Capital (now Lumira Ventures). Mr. Bandali currently serves on the Board of the International Irradiation Association (iiA). He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of British Columbia, an MBA from McGill University, and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.

Kristin Gibbs

Chief Marketing Officer

Kristin Gibbs has served as Sotera Health’s Chief Marketing Officer since November 2016. Prior to joining Sotera Health, she was the Chief Marketing Officer of Cardinal Health at-Home at Cardinal Health, Inc., from 2011 to 2016. Before that, she was the General Manager of Consumer Marketing North America for General Electric from 2010 to 2011, where she led the commercial strategy for the lighting transition to LED light bulbs. From 1996-2010, Ms. Gibbs held various Marketing leadership roles within Nestlé USA, including responsibility for the success of food and beverage megabrands, Lean Cuisine®, Nesquik® and Coffee-mate®. Ms. Gibbs holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics with honors from the University of California at Los Angeles, where she was a member of the UCLA Women’s Swimming Team. She earned an M.B.A. in marketing from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles.

BJ Lehmann

SVP, Corporate Development

BJ Lehmann joined Sotera Health in 2022 as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development. Prior to joining Sotera Health, Mr. Lehmann was the President and Chief Operating Officer at Athersys, Inc., a biotechnology company, where he had responsibility for strategy, business development, collaborations, finance, quality, regulatory, legal and operations. Prior to this, Mr. Lehmann was an Associate Principal at McKinsey and Company, a global management consulting firm, providing services and advice on strategy, sales & marketing, and organic and acquisition-based growth. He has over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceuticals and medical products areas. Mr. Lehmann holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, a M.B.A. in finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Management, and a J.D. degree with distinction from Stanford Law School.

Jon Lyons

SVP & Chief Financial Officer

Jonathan (Jon) Lyons has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sotera Health since June 2023. Prior to joining Sotera Health, Mr. Lyons was most recently the Vice President, Corporate FP&A for Owens Corning, where he also had responsibility for Mergers & Acquisitions. Prior to this role, Mr. Lyons was segment CFO for Owens Corning’s Insulation business and the company’s Composites business, where he oversaw Supply Chain and Sourcing. He was previously the company’s Treasurer serving as liaison to the Finance Committee of the Board and leading return to shareholders activities. Mr. Lyons has also held several senior leadership roles in treasury, FP&A, investor relations and tax during his 8-year career at Cardinal Health after beginning his career in public accounting. Mr. Lyons holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Kent State University and an M.B.A. from The Ohio State University.

Michael Rutz

President, Sterigenics

Michael (Mike) Rutz has served as President of Sterigenics since October 2020. Prior to that, Mr. Rutz was Chief Operating Officer of Sterigenics from May 2020 to October 2020. Prior to joining Sotera Health, he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Semiconductor Business Unit at Littlefuse, Inc., a multinational electronic manufacturing company, where he was responsible for leading sales, marketing, product development, operations and business development for power and protection-based semiconductor products. Mr. Rutz joined Littlefuse in 2014 as Senior Vice President of global operations, overseeing the company’s manufacturing, procurement, planning, quality, and operational excellence initiatives. Prior to joining the Littlefuse, Mr. Rutz served as Senior Vice President global supply chain at WMS Gaming, a Chicago-based manufacturer of equipment and software for the gaming industry. Mr. Rutz also spent 16 years with Motorola in the paging, cellular and networking groups, most recently as Vice President, networks supply chain. Mr. Rutz holds a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and Master’s degrees in mechanical engineering and management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Joseph Shrawder

President, Nelson Labs

Joseph (Joe) Shrawder has served as President of Nelson Labs since October 2020. Prior to that, Mr. Shrawder was Chief Operating Officer of Nelson Labs from January 2020 to October 2020. Prior to joining Sotera Health, he held various leadership roles over 33 years with General Electric Company. His most recent role was leading Global Supply Chain Quality and Customer Experience for GE Healthcare from January 2018 to December 2019.  From July 2014 to December 2017, Mr. Shrawder led GE Healthcare’s Global Service business unit, where he was responsible for nearly $5B in annual revenue, providing remote and field service and spare parts for medical devices installed across six continents.  From January 2013 to July 2014, he served as CEO of GE Healthcare Latin America, based in São Paulo, with responsibility for all GE Healthcare product sales and services across Central and South America and the Caribbean. From June 2010 to January 2013, Mr. Shrawder served as CEO of GE Healthcare’s Surgery business unit, with global responsibility for GE’s global mobile surgical X-ray product portfolio. Joe also held a variety of leadership roles in GE Healthcare beginning in November 2001, spanning areas including quality/six sigma, service, and remanufacturing.  His early GE career included 13 years in GE Lighting’s fused quartz business.  Mr. Shrawder holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

Jason Peterson

Vice President, Investor Relations & Treasury

Jason Peterson joined Sotera Health in 2017 and holds the title of Vice President of Investor Relations and Treasury. Prior to joining Sotera Health, Mr. Peterson held progressively senior treasury roles at Forest City Enterprises, Avient Corporation and The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company where he held a broad range of responsibilities including oversight of risk management and capital markets activities. Mr. Peterson holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. in Finance from Marymount University.
